I am writing as a Ghanaian not where I come from. Osei Kuffour's apology does not look like an apology but a defensive mechanism in the name of an apology. Pride will never take him anywhere in this globe of ours. He needs to be talk to so that he will be bold drop the idea of self pomposity in him and accept his mistakes at all cost. Those arguing for him to be recalled are doing that on tribal basis. If he were a Northerner or Voltarian or Brong or from Sefwi, he would have been asked to go away but because he is an Ashanti, he has done nothing wrong, he is the best defender in Africa and for that matter his inclusion in national team will serve agood purpose. Some of us are ready to fast for Ghana to loose the remaining matches if he is included. WHAT IS GOOD FOR THE GOOSE IS GOOD FOR THE GANDER. He shloud bear in mind that no one is indispensable. Maradona left and Argentina is Argentina, Ronaldo, Bebeto etc will go and Brazil will be Brazil.
You have hit the nail on the head. You can compare his situation to the so called ghanaian bomber. Even though this bomber might have stolen the real asiedu's documents, the facts remain that when the case first surfaced, Ashantis demonised this chap as rather a ghanaian first including all sorts of tribal excuses. It shows that the is no equality in that Ghana. They still rumble on about the fact that the British had to bribe them to release the rest of us from slavery and bondage in the late 1800s.

MUMUNI,did you read the tread carefully? i'm not saying ashantis are untouchable,but this guy was trying to bring an interesting topic devoid of tribalism,nepotism and so forth,but some part of his tread began with comparision,and the moment you try to compare a group of people with different ethnic background,that is where the tribalistic sentiment starts coming in.If he is talking about kuffour as an individual then fine,but don't generalize this issue with all ashantis.In ghana,there some tension with regards to tribal issues,and some people can not do away with comparing one tribe to another.the moment you compare an issue of a particular tribe with anohter tribe that has nothing to do with the issue,guess what is going to happen,so if you don't want us to talk about tribal issues here then stop comparing the tribes. The moment you start" if he is this or is that",then we wil lnot have meaningful discussions here,because other people too will feel offendeda bout some of our utterances.keep the peace here.
